Checklist before proceeding
[checklist]- Enable USB debugging on your device.
- Your mobile phone should be 100% Charged.
- Backup all the files that are stored on your device.
- Your device should be running on Stock Android 2.1 Eclair.
Install Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread on Samsung Galaxy 5 GT-I5503
- Download Odin Tool and Google Apps Package using the download link.
- Extract the downloaded file using some unzipping tool.
- Now, connect your mobile phone to your computer.
- First copy “update-cm-7.1.0-RC1-MADTEAM-v1.6-signed.zip” file to your mobile phone.
- Turn off your mobile phone now and now boot into download mode. To get into download mode press and hold Volume DOWN + HOME + Power Button and wait for the boot.
- Select files by clicking on respective tabs: Click on “OPS Tab” and select the “EUROPA.ops” file. Tick mark the one-package checkbox and then click the “One Package” tab to select “ClockworkMod-Galaxy5-v0.4.tar” file.
- After you’re done with selecting both of these files, just hit the START button and the installation procedure will start.
- Now, your device will itself boot into recovery. Select “Wipe date/factory reset” and “Wipe cache partition”. After both caches are cleared, select “advanced” followed by “Wipe Dalvik Cache” and clear it off.
- Go back to the main recovery screen now and select “reboot system now”.

i upgraded the phone to cynogen’s 2.3 OS
but then wanted to downgrade back to 2.1:- tried but that didnt happen anyways thereafter tried to reinstalll 2.3 now that too wont happen it just gets stuck on the samsung logo ,can u think of something that can resolve me issue
That is a device problem that we have already mentioned in our article. This can’t be solved. But, one of our reader installed Android 2.2 on his device first and then he did flash this one and it worked for him. You can also try your luck..!!

this means i need to copy the file to memory card or internal memory.
and in case internal memory i cant copy it because i cant access my intermal memory of my cell(GTI-5503)
The internal memory of the device is too low, you can’t copy the file to internal memory. Just transfer the file to the SD Card as mentioned in the article and follow the procedure and your work will be done.

in ur steps i did’nt saw any useing for the google apps and boot image and it’s kinda vague

You can unbrick your device by flashing a Stock Firmware on your device.
