LG has started to roll out the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for their late-2012 flagship Optimus G from today. Android 4.1.2 update is rolling out now in South Korea and the device can be updated through OTA or Samsung Kies.

The Official LG mobile website has announced the Jelly Bean Android 4.1.2 update for the following Optimus G variants:

  • LG-F180S (SK Telecom)
  • LG-F180K (KT)
  • LG-F180L (KG U+)

This is a good news for those who have this device considering the fact that it didn’t launch with Jelly Bean in the first place when all other new device was launched was having it. Don’t get too excited soon, as  this update if for the Korean versions of the device and not the international version. If you happen to have one, you’ll have to wait for some time as LG gets their work done for the device.

LG launched the Optimus G in late September 2012 as a flagship device which was launched with high-end specs along with ICS on board. Many were hoping it’s big brother “Optimus G2″ to be unveiled in CES 2013, but it hasn’t happened yet.

Still, MWC is coming next month and along with it, we can hope to see some more from LG, possibly the “G2″ which we are hoping to see much eagerly.
