Samsung Galaxy Camera users can install Android 4.1.1 ZCALL3 Firmware on their devices. The update is rolling out for Galaxy Camera users living in China. You can update your device to this firmware using the inbuilt OTA functionality of your device, or Kies on your computer. If both of these options doesn’t work for you then you can proceed with the installation of the firmware manually.
ZCALL3 Firmware Details

This is an official firmware update rolling out via OTA, root access will be lost after updating the device. No worries though, since we’ve covered rooting procedure too, you can find it in the end just after the updating procedure.

Backup everything that is stored on your device before proceeding with this tutorial. You can use our ADB Backup Guide or Nandroid Backup Guide (Root users) to back up everything that is stored on your device. Install ZCALL3 Firmware on Galaxy Camera
Step #2: Extract both packages that you’ve downloaded. Move the files to a convenient location of your computer.
Step #3: Turn off your Galaxy Camera and now boot the same into download mode. Read this guide to do so.
Step #4: Connect your device to your computer while its in download mode and now start the Odin tool on your computer.
Step #5: Run Odin on your computer, select the files from the extracted folder as shown below:
- Click on ‘PDA Tab’ and select the file having ‘CODE’ in it’s name.
- Click on ‘Phone Tab’ and select the file having ‘MODEM’ in it’s name. Ignore if there isn’t any file with this name.
- Click on ‘CSC Tab’ and select the file having ‘CSC’ in it’s name.
- Click on ‘PIT Tab’ and select the .pit file. Ignore if there’s isn’t any.
Step #6: Tick the Auto Reboot and F.Reset time checkboxes under the odin window and start the process of installation by pressing the START Button.
Step #7: Wait for the installation to complete, after the installation is complete, A pass message would come up with green background under the Odin window. Remove your device after you’re able to see it.

Root ZCALL3 Firmware on Galaxy Camera
Step #1: Download CF-Root and Odin (use previous link).
Step #2: Extract Odin and CF-Root Package.
Step #3: Turn off your tab 2 now and boot it into download mode.
Step #4: Run Odin tool on your computer now and select files as shown below
1. PDA Tab > CF-Auto-Root-gd1-gd1xx-ekgc100.zip
Step #5: Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time boxes should be tick marked. Double Check everything and proceed by hitting the START Button.
That’s all. You’ve successfully installed and rooted your Galaxy Camera GC100 running on Android 4.1.1 ZCALL3 Firmware.
