Pre-Requisites

  • This tutorial is only applicable for the Asus Transformer TF700 device. Not recommended for network locked devices.
  • Important: Backup the data stored on your device. Read: Android ADB Backup Guide.
  • Backup SMS messages, call logs, apn settings, Whatsapp messages, along with the ROM and important data stored on your device.
  • Fully charge the device to prevent it from shutting down in between.

How To Root Asus Transformer TF700 on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean

Step #1: Download the Transformer TF700 Rooting Package (filename: CWM-SuperSU-v0.96.zip).

Step #2: Connect your device to your computer and now transfer the downloaded file to the SD Card.

Step #3: Turn off your device and now boot into recovery mode. Press and Hold Volume Down + Power Button, a menu will appear. Just press the Volume UP button to continue booting to recovery.

Step #4: Select “install zip from SD Card” >> “choose zip from SD Card”. Now, locate the file that we had transferred on the device earlier. Wait for the installation to complete.

Step #5: After the installation of the ROM is complete, head back to the main recovery screen and select “reboot system now”.

That’s it. You’ve successfully rooted your Asus Transformer TF700 on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
