Samsung Galaxy Y is a low end smartphone which is considered to be the best at it’s price range. The mobile phone was launched by Samsung targeting the budget segment, the device came with Android 2.3 Gingerbread out of the box. But, later on there were no updates that released by Samsung for the device. But there were numerous developers that designed Custom ROMs for the device, one of them is the ICSAura ROM.
This time the unofficial CyanogenMod ROM has been developed by some dev at XDA which brings the Android Ice Cream Sandwich essence to Galaxy Y. You can proceed reading the article to update your device to this Custom ROM.

Hey I do all procees but after boot my Samsung galaxy y GT s5360 stuck as blank.
I have the same problem too, how to fix this…
Perform a Full Data wipe through recovery.
Phone stuck as blank…patterns appear on the blank screen when you swipe your finger across. Tried full data wipe through recovery..hasn’t worked….HELP!
When i try to update it says that the zip. was bad and its aborted?
Thanks for your work. Is this the latest CyanogenMod for the GT-S5360?
Also, I’ve tried the Jelly Bean Blast (Android 4.1.1) ROM:
http://tutznet.com/1197-update-galaxy-android-41-jelly-bean-blast-custom-rom/
which installed just fine but does not seem to have the accessibility features of Explore by Touch as advertised for Android 4.1:
hxxp://eyes-free.blogspot.com/
and on the official Android page for Jelly Bean.
This is an unofficial CyanogenMod 9 Build for the Galaxy Y Mobile Phone. This build of CyanogenMod 9 is based on Android ICS 4.0.3 and we haven’t mentioned about Jelly Bean anywhere in our article.
Thanks for your response.
I understand that this ROM is based on Android ICS 4.0.3 and not Android Jelly Bean 4.1, I just included the links and explanation to support my first question:
Is this the most recent Android version CyanogenMod build for the S5360?
I’m in particular looking for the features available in Jelly Bean 4.1 named “Gesture Mode” or “Explore by Touch” when accessibility is turned on in the settings menu. Together with TalkBack app this enables a blind person to operate the phone in a similar way VoiCEOver functions on iOS. As said before, the jelly Bean Blast ROM claiming to be based on Android 4.1.1 (or 4.1) does not seem to have these accessibility improvements included, yet the official Android features does state that it is part of 4.1 and upwards.
From what I can gather online, the latest devices having Android 4.1 as their stock ROM seem to have “Explore by Touch” and “Gesture Mode” available.
Looking forward to trying your unofficial CM9 ROM later today. Any pointers to a ROM for the Galaxy Y that do include the accessibility features just mentioned would be much appreciated.
can these 5 steps be followed for galaxy y duos s-6102? please reply
I’m afraid not! Both the Galaxy Y an Y Duos are different phones, so one ROM won’t work for both.
comment sa se fait j’ai perdu tous mes contacts et mes application
comment fait-on pour les recuperer??
Please comment in english as this is an english website..
However thanks to Google Translate I have managed to understand that you are saying “how it is I lost all my contacts and Application
how-to recover??”
During the flashing process, the phone’s internal memory gets wiped off. So, you cannot recover anything that is lost. You should have backed up everything in the first place.
I think that you can recover your contacts by going to contacts.google.com . For contacts, I cannot tell you much because they you cannot recover them.
first, Phone stuck as blank…patterns appear on the blank screen when you swipe your finger across. Tried full data wipe through recovery… hasn’t worked…
After wiping, switched on, and left for 5 minute…
Now it’s on and it says: “Android is upgrading…. starting applications…”
it’s almost 1 hour and it’s still upgrading….
How much time does it normally take to start?
What should I do if it upgrades till battery go off?
Guys Help!!!
You just need to clear the Dalvik Cache in the CWM. That will do it.

This shouldn’t be happening. Did you perform a factory reset?
Is this ROM Arab supports writing???

“You just need to clear the Dalvik Cache in the CWM. That will do it.”
Can you give more details on that???
Go TO CWM Recovery on your phone >> Select “Advanced” >> then select “Dalvik Cache”. This will do.
