Ever thought of having Jelly Bean in such a low end device such as Galaxy Y? — Yes it’s possible now, the Galaxy Y users can install the Jelly Bean Blast Custom ROM on their devices to enjoy the taste of Jelly bean on their devices. Samsung did launch this device with Android 2.3 gingerbread, after that no update came for the device, so we cannot expect Samsung to push the Jelly bean update either. If you’re looking for Android Ice Cream Sandwich update then you can install ICS Aura Custom ROM.
This is not an official firmware update pushed by Samsung. This Custom ROM has been created by some developer, so there could be a few bugs or problems in this ROM. Now, without wasting anymore time, we’ll proceed with installation. Make sure that you follow each and every step carefully.

I successfully installed jelly beans in my Samsung galaxy s5360 but I am facing an issue. Not able to connect to any network. My phone is not reading my SIM card. Please suggest.
Plzz help i am not able to download the zip file…
after successfully installing this rom
when rebooting i got stuck in the rebooting logo its nearly 2 hours +
what should I do?
Wow, I tried it on my S5360 XXKI9 and it worked perfectly with no impact on carrier network at all. Thank you very much for producing this ROM and installation guide!
Was quite a scary exercise but for me at least it did work.
Only problem now is that, even after installing all the accessibility software to enable eyes-free operation, the “Explore by Touch” as advertised for Jelly Bean does not seem to work. See below for a detailed explanation of the problem and what I have tried to make it work. It is an email I’ve submitted to the Eyes-free mailing list – a project to make Android more accessible, headed up by veteran accessibility guru at Google, Dr. T. V. Raman of emacspeak fame.

Hi.
So eager to get into Android development, but facing some challengers in terms of accessibility.
I’ve successfully installed the ROM from here:
http://tutznet.com/update-galaxy-android-41-jelly-bean-blast-custom-rom.html
on my Samsung GT-S5360 XXKI9. It was running Android 2.3.5 which requires a physical track ball for accessibility to work at all, which the S5360 does not have, so I opted for the rooted ROM as per above (else I would have happily stayed on 2.3.5 or 2.3.6 which is officially supported by Samsung).
After installing:
Spiel Screen Reader,
TalkBack,
SoundBack,
KickBack,
Pico TTS,
Espeak TTS,
Eyes-free Shell,
Accessibility Preferences,
SVOX Classic TTS
and enabling TalkBack, SoundBack and KickBack under Settings, I do get some speech feedback via Eyes-free Shell, but as far as I can make out, “Explore by Touch” as advertised for Android 4.1 is no where to be found under Settings or Accessibility Preferences, and using the gestures as described here:
hxxp://eyes-free.blogspot.com/2012/07/jelly-bean-accessibility-explainedtouch.html
produce no results, not even in something simple like the main Settings interface, or in a known accessible app like “Accessibility Preferences” (for example).
So glad that the custom ROM update actually worked, but since accessibility is next to nothing with Android 2.3.5 and 2.3.6 anyways, I decided to take the risk of bricking the phone
.
What I have noticed is that Eyes-Free Shell seems to work absolutely fine, even for the left and right swiping gestures for moving to the previous and next application in the list of applications to launch, but as soon as I enter into a known accessible application, the swiping gestures does not move along the system / screen reader focus at all, and just touching the screen once where I’m told a control resides only results in the control being activated (checkbox checked / unchecked for example, and this being spoken). When moving my finger around on the screen nothing is spoken although there does appear to be some haptic feedback sometimes.
I’ve also noticed that a few of the accessibility related settings does not appear in Settings, such as:
Language and Voice Input,
Accessibility > Explore by Touch,
etc.
Any suggestions and ideas of how I can get this to work? Any way of checking / forcing “Explore by Touch” to turn on?
Regards,
Kerneels
